Just for Today
Just for today I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.
This day’s wisdom comes from a bookmark style handout from Al-Anon. It carries several points of wisdom and guidance very helpful for daily living.
We know well how hurry brings anxiety and tension right along with it. Indecision saps the energy from our very souls. It keeps us spinning in place and often keeps us from there very thing we strive after - confidence and grounding which stem from decisiveness.
So today, and every day I hope, I begin with a program. A small plan with simple steps. Life will bring what it may, yet when anxiety tries to rise or spinning begins, I can redirect my thoughts and actions back to my “program”… to a path and place of peace.
